What’s your favorite part of the job? My favorite part of the job is the people I get to meet. People are a great example of God’s creativeness and I enjoy seeing God move through those people we get to do life with.
What do you like to do when you’re not working? When I’m not working I like to spend time with my family, watch Michigan football, go fishing and play basketball.
What’s your favorite snack? Hands down my favorite snack is any kind, flavor or shape of jerky.
Scott Kinney, Children’s Pastor
Who are you? My name is Scott Kinney, I was born and raised in Bloomsburg, Pa. I moved to Charleston in 1995 to open an Italian Ice and Coffee Shop with my cousin. I currently work full time at Carolina Lanterns and Lighting. I started volunteering in Children’s Ministry when I was 16 years old working with our churches VBS. I have over 14 years of full-time vocational children’s ministry experience. I met my beautiful wife, Meghan in 1998 during an Easter Production at the church we were attending. We married in 1999 and have four wonderful children; Tradd, Cooper, Coleman and Drayton.
What’s your favorite part of the job? I love teaching kids about how creative God is and how much He loves us. The best part is when the kids get it and their relationship with Christ becomes their own. My greatest accomplishment in ministry was spear-heading the Special Needs Ministry at my last church. The ministry regularly serves many families with special needs, as well as hosting the Luke 14/Night to Shine Prom each year. This is a special event for people of all ages with special needs and their families and caregivers.
What do you like to do when you’re not working? I love hanging out with family and friends, playing games, and watching movies. However, I am also a part of Thorn Production Tour Staff, traveling around the country combining my love of sharing the Gospel with my love of the theater. I love going into new cities, meeting new people and watching everyone come together to make the Gospel come alive and seeing people come into a relationship with Christ!
Rachel Satterfield, Worship Leader
Who are you? Above all I am a daughter of the highest King, a new creation in Christ and a passionate worshipper. I am currently a student at SEU finishing up my associates degree in Worship Ministry. I grew up in Charleston, as the second oldest of six children. I nanny for an amazing family with seven children, and have been for the past five year.
What’s your favorite part of the job? Seeing people worship, connect with their Heavenly Father, and experience Gods love. Also I love seeing peoples lives be transformed through The Holy Spirit. I know I was created to be a worshipper. And nothing brings me more joy than getting to lead and teaching others in worship.
What do you like to do when you’re not working? I enjoying being outside! Wether it’s just sitting on my back porch or walking through parks. Most of all I love going to the beach, sitting or walking as I soak in the beauty of Gods creation around me. I also love spending time with people talking about the things that matter to them.
What’s your favorite snack? Fruit! Just about any and all fruit but my go too would have to apples.
